Lincoln Shows Up in LA with an Impressively Refreshed MKS

When you think of LINCOLN, what comes to mind? Got it? Now, get ready for all of that to change. Once you catch a glimpse of the all-new 2013 LINCOLN MKS, the meaning of LINCOLN will take a whole new shape. At the 2011 LA Auto Show, the automaker unveiled a heavily refreshed MKS filled to the brim with style, performance and some pretty cool new gadgets.

The first thing you'll notice is that the grille has taken on more a refined look - long gone are the days of the toothy LINCOLN front end - the "baleen grille" is thinner and features dark vertically-slanted bars that blend with the front headlights for a sleek and sophisticated look. Maybe a bit aggressive, but we like it.

Inside, the 2012 MKS gets a MyLINCOLN Touch panel infotainment system. This will allow drivers to access all of their entertainment needs - navigation, radio, phone, etc... - while also keeping their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.

As for performance and handling, LINCOLN switched the engine up to a 3.7-liter V6 capable of producing 300 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. There is, of course, the optional 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which pumps out about 355 horses and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. Another new addition is LINCOLN Drive Control for EcoBoost engines, enabling Normal, Sport and Comfort driving modes to enhance suspension and steering.
