Mazda Introduces More Efficient Engine for 2013

Mazda has been working for some time to create a more efficient internal combustion engine. This fall, it finally materializes. Take the MAZDA3, now available at Sentry Cars, for example. It's the first Mazda auto released with a lighter-weight, more efficient SkyActiv-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine and either the SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission or SkyActiv-MT six-speed manual transmission.

Mazda's new SkyActiv technology will become standard on all new Mazda vehicles in the 2013 model year. Mazda PR rep, Sandra Lemaitre, explains the logic behind the automaker's gradual rollout was to "make Mazda's latest technologies available to customers as quickly as possible."1

Mazda's research has revealed that most of the energy loss in internal combustion engines is thermal and is lost through the exhaust, cooling system, engine and transmission. The new SkyActiv engine reduces combustion length, engine weight, and internal engine friction. This new technology combines with Mazda's new 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, designed to move hot gases away from the engine, increasing thermal efficiency. The end result is a higher torque rating and a 15 percent increase in fuel economy.

Sentry Auto Group,  serving the greater Boston area, invites you to stop by to see this new technology for yourself. Available in the MAZDA3 currently, it will also come standard in the 2013 Mazda CX-5.
